Pizza Garlic Oil Sauce
Ingredients
-
½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
-
4–6 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated
-
½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
-
½ tsp salt
-
¼ tsp black pepper
-
1–2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional but delicious)
-
1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional for freshness)
Instructions
-
Warm the oil
In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over low heat. Do not let it smoke—just warm it gently. -
Add garlic
Add the minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Keep heat low to avoid burning the garlic. -
Season
Stir in oregano, basil, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. -
Simmer briefly
Let the mixture warm for another 1–2 minutes. Remove from heat. -
Add optional ingredients
Mix in grated Parmesan cheese and/or fresh parsley if using. -
Cool
Let it cool slightly before using on pizza dough, or store it in a jar for up to 1 week in the refrigerator.
How to Use
-
Brush on raw pizza dough before adding toppings for a fragrant garlic base.
-
Drizzle over cooked pizza as a finishing oil.
